Maternity at the beach!

As a photographer, it's only natural that I want to put people in locations that they might not have thought about before.  SO when I asked if anyone was interested in doing a maternity session.. in and around the ocean and Krystal said YES! I was VERY excited! Of course, I wasn't so worried about the "around" the ocean part, but sticking a pregnant lady in the ocean around sunset can be iffy. 

First and foremost, I need everyone to be safe and lets face it.. the Ocean is a big scary place. I wasn't worried about a shark encounter, even though I'm pretty much always worried about shark encounters. (it was even discussed on the car ride up, but we were strong!)  I was more worried about slipping or sinking and floating away. But we were SUPER careful! 

Second, it could be warm but lets face it.. we knew it was going to be cold in that water.  Krystal and Carson were troopers!  No one fell in, no one washed away and most importantly, WE HAD FUN! 

We went to Harkness State Park, which is a beautiful spot. I was hoping to find a spot that provided us with some variety in landscapes and the ocean, so this seemed like the perfect fit! 

After some time in the gardens we headed to the beach.  We waited until just before sunset, hoping that the sun would pop out for us. (it never did) BUT we made it work anyway! It was a beautiful night for a session by the water.
