HEY ALL!!
I haven't been on here in a bit, but dont think that means I've been slacking. That is CERTAINLY not the case! I've been very busy and I'll even prove it to ya!
Today, March 18th 2011 has been a very productive day and it only gets better from here! Not only is it friday, it is also the day that our finals were due. I feel like every time i post on here I talk about handing in my finals and "yay i'm done" and then a week later I'm like.. "Oh hey, I just handed in my finals" Welcome to life at Hallmark Institute of Photography. Its crazy busy and I wouldn't have it any other way!
So, Today I did indeed hand in my finals. Well, the second half. First was our business plan like a month ago.. Then we had to hand in our mandatory assignments for phase 3. Today was the second and final addition to our phase 3 finals. Our assignment.. "Take 7 pictures and one self portrait" Easy right? HA no. I literally finished my self portrait today. I dont know why I struggle with these things, but I do! This is the second time i've done a self portrait the day it was due.. and LOVE it. I guess you wanna see right???
Its different.. dark, mysterious, exciting. I really liked it. My last one was so bright and colorful it was time for a change!
Seeing that this final was open to us completely we really had freedom to do whatever we want.. Sort of. The only guidelines we had were to take pictures that went with our business plans that we wrote out. The school wants to see what kind of photography we want to make and what our style is! So.. I had some fun with this :) I want to do Lifestyle photography. People, familes, kids, engagements, weddings....You get the idea. With this in mind I wanted to throw a bit of my own style into it. SO I was on a mission. I got a wedding dress... Found a bride (my amazing non official baby sister Katey) Got myself a groom ( the awesome Scott who was super great and supportive) and Off we went. Scott and I drove up to Uconn where Katey goes to school and figured we would wing it from that point on. I had props and such, but no location. Well... that didn't take us very long. I was able to get some very lovely photos from the day.. but my person fav, which was actually my vision the whole time and was SO excited it worked is.....

I LOVE IT!!!! Thank you to Katey and Scott for being troopers in the cold and just being awesome the whole time.

I also did a little video from the shoot, I've started editing that so just wait for that to come! Another little behind the scenes video.
I also met the cutest little girl.. Rylee. She was SUPER cute and tiny and she came up to school with her mom for a girly photo shoot. I dont have all the pictures edited yet, but i'll give you a sneak peek!
How can you not fall in love with that little face? Special shout and and thanks to my girl Chelsea who let me jump in on her photo shoot and snap a few shots of Rylee. Also for her help on the shoot!!
Another thing thats pretty great about today? Aside from the whole.. friday end of the week thing and the fact that finals are submitted. Its officially SPRING BREAK. WOOHOO!! I will miss my HIPSTERS and my teachers.. P.s. not that they read this, but i HUGE shout out to my teachers for all their help the past couple days, definitely appreciated. Ok, sorry.. Yeah, Um I'm currently not editing photos or anything because I"M PACKING FOR DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!! (well, i took a break to write this blog) we leave in the Morning i'm SO excited!!!!
