KGP = Crazy Cat Lady!

Hey All!!

So i've finally had a day to myself where I've been able to sit down and write on my blog! THIS post is going to be pretty amazing though, so it was worth the wait!!!

Its a chilly Wednesday night in CT.  (I actually started writing Thursday and then realized its still only wednesday, thats how crazy things have been around here!!) Anyway.. Its a chilly winter night. There is still no snow in the area but It feels like its close. I"m sitting in my "office" with my mug of chocolate ice cream and my trusty assistance.

Trusty Assistants

With all thats been going on in life recently... with working and photo shoots and meetings!! Its also the Holidays! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, no matter what your faith or belief and share this special time with loved ones. I know that I have!!   This is part of the craziness.

Buster.. Ciara.. Andrew.. me and Caroline would be the lovely model laying across the photo. This fantastic award winning photograph was taken by my lovely Photo Assistant Carl.

Not only has it been an exciting time of the year, but I've also been moving!!  In our new place we have two new babies! Well.. Kittens.  I've become a crazy cat lady. Andrew isn't too far behind me either.. he is pretty crazy about the cats too. I must apologize in advance for the abundance of cat photos, but honestly it can't be helped. They are so darm adorable.  They are super cuddly!  Teddy likes to curl up in a ball either on my legs or in my arms and Howie lays across your chest or sits on your shoulder.  They are strange little creatures.  They also like to sit in between the shower curtains while i'm showering and watch the water and when they fall into the tub.. I have to kick them out. Who wouldn't thunk it?

With everything going on.. I had an extra special photo shoot lined up over the Holidays.  When I was growing up I was some how paired with the Hurley Family.  Pam or as she is known to her family, Mom, had me in her daycare for basically my entire childhood and for this I couldn't be more grateful.  Not only was I well cared for.. but I ended up with a little sister Miss Katey and big brothers Sean and Ryan.    I stole this photo from Katey's facebook....

Please excuse my outfit. My mother is to blame.  Ryan was smart and got out when he could so he is not  in this photo! He doesn't have to be here to defend his outfit choices.  The rest of us.. well we are cute. Don't you try and deny it. :)

Anyway... our latest photo shoot was actually in this same location.. minus the wagon of course.  But when Pam asked me to do a family photo shoot while all her babies were home for the holidays... not even a question!!

The Family <3

They are a good looking family.

So there ya have it.  Things have been crazy but all good fun!!  I'm looking forward to this next year!  I'm waiting for all the good things that come with a new year and the many more photo shoots!  Enjoy whats left of 2011 and we shall see ya next year!!!

For now.. i'm going to go cuddle with my kittens. They had a busy day! They are sleepy!

Filled with extra love!

I haven't blogged in approximately 75 years, well, that might be an exaggeration.  At least thats what it feels like!  The last 3 months have been the craziest EVER.

For a brief recap..

one. We have been having weird weather. Lets talk about the freak storm we had Halloween weekend that resulted in us not having power for a week. Ew. Trees down, power lines EVERYWHERE. It was an event thats for sure!  We had to make a fridge to keep our food from going bad.. it was located out our back deck.  Out of everyone in the house, I'm pretty sure Tanner was the biggest cry baby.

 Our Fridge..

The not so pretty parts.. :(

Two. Family time :) The Holidays are always fun because it allows me time to not be doing work.. and not feel guilty about it.  Then I get to do my favorite thing.. Which is simple. Hang out with my family.. (and take pictures)  At some point, my cousins take my camera and go on photo adventures too, which I %100 support! This is my cousin Carl's photograph.

Three.  A SUPER cute baby photo session!!!!  Brayden and big brother William!  Brayden was the perfect baby. He just hung out... wide awake, not a care in the world.  Big Brother William was ready to be a part of our shoot too and was such a big help!!  These lovely young men belong to a co-worker of mine.  She had baby Brayden a couple weeks early and a couple months before I basically told her I was coming over with my camera and they should be ready! This is a little peek from our day together.

and Last but not least... MOVING!!  I've been moving into an apartment and more importantly I have 2 new babies!!!

Please help me in welcoming the newest members to the KGP family!!

Howard.........and Theodore. Or Howie and Teddy for short!

Teddy is the sweetest (not the brightest) member of the family. But we love him just the same!!

Howard already knows that the camera is going to be in his face all the time and I think he has accepted it. :) Howie enjoys chasing stings, his mouse, the shower, and kitty treats

annnnd, Teddy thinks he is ferocious. Teddy is our little porker, we almost always find him at the food dish. He likes dangly things, chasing his tail, Horton hears a who (true story.. he watches it on my laptop), the shower and also....

Watching Tv..

So there you have it. I've been busy photographing... spending time with my family.. moving with my kitties and working a TON! Things are good and crazy all at once!!

When I'm not working at the cafe, I'm taking photographs and editing and designing Christmas cards which has been a new adventure this year. But FUN!

Stay tuned for more KGP! and
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Holly and Eric

Once upon a time....

Well, no.. my blog is not usually a fairy tale, but every once in a while its bound to happen! I'd like to tell you a story.

5 or 6 or 1000 years ago, I worked at Barnes and Noble with a girl named Holly. She was from Green Bay Wisconsin and somehow ended up in my store in Connecticut.  To add to the weirdness, her birthday is May 22 and Mine is May 24th.  We both love Taylor Swift and Cheesy 90's boy bands and late night runs to Taco Bell and we hit if off just fine!

One day, Holly left me :( She went back to Green Bay and I was very sad.  I don't have anyone that will go with me to the Backstreet Boys concerts anymore :( .... Yes they are still touring... Yes they are still amazing. :) Please keep your laughs to yourself!

So, When I received the phone call that Holly was engaged, I was SOOOOOO excited.  Oh, and I wasn't missing it for the world.

On October 6th, Andrew and myself flew to Minnesota (we had to make a stop to visit friends of ours).  We stayed the night in Minnesota and then rented a car and drove to Green Bay Wisconsin.  It weird out there, Its FLAT! But we made it JUST in time!

This was our view for 5 hours.

 Road Trippin'

YAY!!!!!

We started at the rehearsal where we got to meet the wedding party.

We got the lay of the land, had dinner with the wedding party and family and then headed to the hotel.  Had to prepare and get ready for the BIG day!!!

The wedding ceremony was held at the Green Bay Wisconsin Railroad Museum.  Which made my job so much more fun! We had a lot to play with!

The ceremony went off without a hitch and then we were off to pictures and then PARTY TIME!!

Holly and her now husband Eric met at Barnes and Noble, Which is weird because thats where WE met!  Really, she couldn't have found a sweeter most perfect guy, well.. Besides Andrew of course ;) At the Salon the morning before the wedding, while all the girls were getting their hair done.. Flowers were delivered, to Holly, Her mom, and Eric's mom. All from Eric.  It was just the sweetest thing.  They are perfect for each other!! I am now proud to call both Holly and Eric my friends.

I knew some of Holly's Family, but obviously this was my first time meeting Eric's and they were just as sweet!! Lets meet the Wedding Party, shall we ?!?

This is Holly and Eric... which I'm guessing you already figured out! They both arrived to the ceremony on the train *separately of course and then after they were married all the guests got to ride on the train around the museum!

Flower Girl.. Miss Ava

How bout' the Moms and Dads? They deserve a little love too! Congratulations to EVERYONE on this happy day!

Now that you have met the beautiful bridal party I have to say.. I had a HUGE help with me on this wedding.. That would of course be, my (ahem) assistant Andrew. Who after this wedding said he never wants to help me again.. hahaha Weddings are a lot of pressure!!! Its a big day for 2 people and it needs to go off as smooth as possible.  He made sure everyone was hydrated.. he had a walkie and would let the grounds people know what needed to be done. He jumped in the truck and helped the guys at the museum. He even waited at the end of the aisle to remind the flower girl to throw her peddles. He is Awesome. Thank you Andrew <3

This is one of my favorite pictures! I made Holly take off her shoes and we put them on the steps to one of the trains.. I loved the old dirty rust against her beautiful shoes!

There is something about people from Green Bay, they do love their sports teams!!

Now, I personally feel that this was a Barnes and Noble kinda wedding. The Bride and Groom met there, The bride and I met there, and the lovely Lady.. Anna.. from the B&N made the wedding Cake!!! So naturally when  the bride and groom said.. "we have to take pictures at Barnes and Noble" how could I refuse!!

The reception was lovely as well!! Here are a few more for you to enjoy as the night went on..

Baseball Themed Grooms cake!!! ANNA you did an awesome job with these!!!

Is it ok for the photographer to cry at weddings? haha Cause that NEVER happened. Well at least you couldn't tell because I was hiding behind my camera. But yeah.. it was an emotional and beautiful wedding and I was so thankful to be apart of it!!!! It means a lot when someone trusts you to take care of the memories from one of the most important days in their lives.   Love you both.

Congratulations Holly and Eric
