Babies so cute you just wanna eat them up!

Good Evening To my KGP family!  This BLOG is full of pictures!!

This week has been chock full of cute little baby faces and happy familes, which I must say.. makes my job so much more fun!!

Its starting to get to the point of school where I'm so tired I can't even sit on the couch without closing my eyes.  I think its only going to get worse from here, till graduation but BRING IT ON!!!

This week started off with a pretty amazing photo shoot.  I know i've mentioned once or twice that my teachers at school are the best. Well, this week I learned that their families are just as great too! Tuesday morning started off with a photo shoot with baby William.   My teacher Michael came in with his wife and the little man and we had ourselves a baby-tastic... (yeah i know that isn't a word, but it is just what I needed to describe it!)  Photoshoot.  When William got to the studio he was sleeping and I was so afraid when we pulled him out of his cozy little seat and woke him up he was basically going to hate us and well.. thats never a good way to start when you need a happy baby for photos. That was not the case at all!! He was the happiest, cutest baby and full of smiles!!  I do have to thank both mom and dad for all their help and lets not forget to mention the outfit changes!  I also need to thank Abi from http://abithibodeauphotography.com/. Not only is she a good friend of mine, but she is pretty great at photography too! She helped me with making silly faces and noises to make baby William smile and for this I and super grateful! I'm sure you really could care less about me chatting and would like to see baby photos.  here ya go :)

Doesn't he kind of look like baby Sinatra with the hat.. and the lean? I personally think the drool helps too :)

SUPER CUTE RIGHT? i know.. a HUGE thank you to my teacher and his family for hanging out in the studio and snapping some pictures.  It was lots of fun and a great way to start the day!!

After we cleaned up and headed out of school, My friend Chelsea http://www.chelseakrahenbill.com/ and I went over to visit with a family we met at the twins birthday party!  They invited us to there home to take pictures of the family and then of the kids.  That was a wild adventure! It was the first really hot day of the year. I believe it got into the 80's.  Everyone was excited to be outside in the nice weather, not so much about pictures.  But who would be? Its no fun to sit and smile when there is a swing set glistening in the shining sun in your very own backyard. Meet the Fam!

Michael and Mia are the babies and TWINS. They will be celebrating their Very first birthday next month and we are excited to share that time with them!  After a few family shots, we headed over to the swings to take pictures of the kids.  It was the first time that the twins have been able to stick their toes in the grass. Mia was NOT having it. She didn't like it, wanted nothing to do with it and cried at the feel of it.  MIchael on the other hand, was eating the grass and swinging his toes in it.  We was a happy little clam. Which made taking pictures of him super easy (we can retouch the grass out of his mouth right?)  Kids are so fun to hang out with and take pictures of, I love being able to just hang out and take pictures when you aren't on a dead line.  We hung out in the back yard for about an hour with the kids while they played and just snapped some shots here and there.

Its been a quiet Wednesday night here at school.  I went into the commercial studio and shot my metal piece that I have to do for my portfolio.  I actually really like it.  Its creative and different and well, thats what I like to try and do at least.   Soon enough I'll blog about my portfolio, but right now, I have a few more pictures to take!

Thats it for me tonight, I'm pretty tired and my allergies are here for a visit. THANKS SPRING. I'm really glad its getting warmer but I'm suffering, just like i'm sure many of you out there are as well.  I'm feel your pain!!!

Blog readers and friends out there, If you read my blogs, Don't be afraid to say hello!  It doesn't have to be elaborate or long messages.  It can literally only be a Hello.  But it gets lonely here in the blog world and I want to know who is out there!! I dont bite i swear! The worse I'll do is take your picture.  ;)

Now as a special treat.. A picture from the walk my friends and I took yesterday.  Ok, ill set this up, because really.. it needs to be set up.  If you try and figure this out on your own.. you'll never win. Abi, Myself, Chelsea and Ainsley decided to take a walk after school because it was such a beautiful day.  When we got to the end of the road, the sun was hitting through the trees and we decided to lay in the super green grass? Yeah, I'm not really sure why. But anywho.. this is what we do. Abi took this fabulous photo... I hope you enjoy.

*Disclaimer: No animals were harmed in the making of these photos.

Hey All!

Its Easter Weekend and Im back in CT!  Today I headed to my aunts house to take some fashion pictures with my super fantastic little model Caroline.  I had this idea to use a kid for my fashion picture so i asked my cousin Caroline and of course she was super excited to help me out.. (she always helps me with school stuff because she is awesome)

So, When i got up this morning and saw it was SNOWING!!!!!!  First, Really April? Really? ok.. so then as we were driving back to CT it turned more into rain.  I knew Caroline would be down for anything really, so i called and asked if she would wear her super cute rain boots for a fashion shoot and we made it happen!!

At my aunts house, which is actually a farm.. If you go across the street from the main barn.. Its really grassy and green and there is a stream that runs through the middle.  Andrew calls it the "Shire" because it looks like a scene from Lord or the Rings.  Anyway, i thought this would make a really pretty place to do a fashion shot.. and with the rain and the stream, it makes sense to have rain boots right?!?

So, anyway.. we walked down there.. My model Caroline, My assistant Andrew and Myself and we went to take some pictures!!

We kept moving around trying to get the right spot, which wasn't too hard for me or Caroline because we were both wearing rain boots.. Andrew on the other hand, was not. Poor thing had to become a basketball jumper to get to where we were.. So for this.. I've brought photos so you can all see what I mean.

This is my SUPER amazing assistant leaping to come hold a reflector. He is AWESOME!  Thanks love
Once he got to the other side, Caroline made fun of him for jumping funny.. and there was this....

She was attacked.  Which was a problem for me only because I needed her as clean as possible!!! But all is well!

So We tried a few different areas.  But after we left the "shire" we went up the street a bit to a spot on the side of the road where there was a mini waterfall that i thought it would be super cute to take pictures at. I had Caroline walking through the water and across the mini falls and near a fallen tree.

I was able to get some super cute shots which I love, but thats not the best part.  While we were shooting, Andrew was standing by the car because we walked through mud and water and he just couldn't get there.  well.. Someone drove by and saw us.. Then called my Uncle to tell him that someone was taking pictures of his daughter in the woods.  REALLY? So, not knowing I was at the house today, He drove down the road to see what was going on and told us the story.  I swear, Karin Goodwin Photography does not make it a habit to kidnap children and take pictures of them in the woods. I ALWAYS ask first. ALWAYS!!!  :)

After we were done taking pictures in the woods, my last idea was to have her stomp in some puddles and get pictures of water splashes.  This didn't end up working because literally as she was stomping her foot down towards the water, my camera battery died and shut off. VERY SAD :( Before this happened though, I was taking pictures to set my white balance and such and snapped a picture. At the time that the picture was taken.. I did not really understand what was happening.  However, when I got home and looked at the photos this particular one made me laugh out loud.  If you see the humor.. please let me know. :)

A Sad Goodbye

Unfortunately today's Blog isn't the happiest blog, but I wanted to write this...

I have a friend.. his name is Glen.  19 months ago he was diagnosed with lymphoma and well, although he fought a good hard fight, he lost the battle yesterday morning. :(  I'm am grateful for 3 things.

one. Glen is no longer in pain.
two. Glen had dreams to travel  and see everything and he accomplished that.
three. Glen was my manager, a pain in my ass and he was my Friend.

I met Glen when I worked at Barnes and Noble. He was the easy going, not a care in the world kinda guy. As my time at BN continued, he ended up becoming my manager.  He stayed the "not a care in the world, easy going guy" which made for a pretty awesome manager.

Outside of BN was where all the fun was really had.  I went with Glen when he went Sky Diving for the first time.  That was a trip.  I too was supposed to go, but everything seemed to go wrong every time I was supposed to go, (i took that as a sign to stay on the ground)

The first and only time I've ever been to a Goth club.. (glens fault) We actually had a really good time. So.. Thanks for that Glen.  :)

We would have dinner dates.. and i was always the awkward third wheel. Glen, Andrew and Myself enjoyed the Olive Garden.. But then again, who doesn't?  We did venture out once or twice to a new restaurant, but we always ended up going back to Olive Garden.  I think it was the breadsticks.

A few times we would go out just to let loose and have fun.  I guess our "group" was good at that.  A good night was when we went a really shady bar/restaurant in my home town.  By the end of the night, if i'm not mistaken.. Glen was doing cartwheels in the street. It was also the night a man hit on my boyfriend and as he rubbed his lower back.. asked if he had ever kissed a man.  andrew was SO uncomfortable, I thought it was Great.

We had a lot of fun times, some great talks, and our fair share of fights as well. One of my favorite nights, was May 23rd, 2 years ago.  My friend Holly and I basically share a birthday.  Her birthday is May 22 and mine is May 24th, So we celebrated on May 23rd.  For our birthday, we went on a road trip.  We BLASTED BackStreet Boys and bought Taco Bell and drove around the state of CT.  We somehow ended up at Glen's parents where he was house sitting and chillen' with his boy Peewee.  Peewee is a cute little dog who runs the show! It turned out to be a pretty great night.  We stayed and chatted and pet Peewee for a few hours. Best Birthday Ever.

So Yesterday when I received the phone call... Even though we were expecting it, It was still very hard to hear.  I"m grateful that Glen is in a better place now and that he is no longer in pain.  I'm also pretty confident that he is munching on Olive Garden Breadsticks... routing for the Dolphins... blasting some Tori Amos way up above and kicking ass at Apples to Apples all while continuing to rock that ridiculous cowboy hat.

Life is too short, If it isn't apparent now, then you just aren't going to figure that out.  I try to live my life to the fullest.  I was unhappy with where I was in my life and I up and quite my job and went back to school to do what it is I love.  When i first started going towards my love of photography I had printed a book of Pictures that I'd taken and brought it to see Glen in the Hospital.. during his first rounds of Chemo.  He encouraged me to go forward and do what I love.. I only wish I could continue to share my love and growth with him, but i know he is up there.. watching down on all of us.  When I trip or walk into a wall.. I know he will be up there.. laughing. *You are welcome Glen*  :)

So, with all this reflection of life going on here in my head, I still had to go to school.  I worked on a project today for my final portfolio but I also took a picture for myself.  Its nothing spectacular or wonderful.. but its some of the things that I love.. that meshed into a picture.  Its things I enjoy, cherish and that represent me.

I apologize for this rather depressing blog, But sometimes life takes you down roads you never wanted to travel down.  I just needed to share my feelings, give a shout out to my boy Glenny and also share the picture that was inspired by all of this love and sadness that is inside my heart.  so with this I say, call someone that you love today just to say I love you.  Give someone a hug.  Take a picture.  Do whatever is in you. But enjoy life, its precious, wild, and its WAY too short.

Love You Glen, We miss you <3

Sunday Morning

Good Morning Sunday!

My mom always gets excited when I say I'm coming home for a weekend and then I come home and i NEVER see her!!  I had 2 shoots yesterday and another today! Poor Mama :(  BUT for todays shoot, she is going to be my assistant so I'm excited about that!

Yesterday was a busy day! It started off with a 2 week old teeny little girl named Zoey.  She was precious. For a baby that has only been here for 2 weeks, she was so good on our photo shoot!  She was a little squirmy at first but after a bottle and some location changes she was a happy little baby and sat really well!

So I'm sure I'm not the only one to think this, but don't you just love little baby feet and toes? I couldn't help but take pictures of Zoey's cute little pink toes.  A big thanks to Zoey's mommy Liz for letting me come over and take some pictures!!

Next up... Do ya remember this guy??

I'm not sure if you have ever met.. Blog Readers this is Joe. Joe.. these are my way awesome KGP fans! Joe is a good friend of mine who comes and helps me when ever he can with my school stuff and then, after i'm done with my school stuff, he pulls out his toothbrush and toothpaste (in the studio) and starts brushing his teeth.. And this is why we love him! We could spend all day talking about his shenanigans..  but lets move on for now.. shall we?  WELL.. His mom Lydia IS AWESOME!!!! She let me come over to the Jewelry store where she works and let me play around with jewelry and take pictures!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I'm not gonna show ya all of the images, because I haven't decided which I"m going to use for my portfolio but I will show you a couple :)

The jewelry was so beautiful in the store on its own, but I had brought in a bunch of different flowers to shoot with and I think the shots came out lovely.  Also a special thank you to Mr. Hatfield for allowing me into his beautiful store and helping me set up my lights!

I tried saving the flowers that we used for my mom because.. well she did buy them. Um.. this is what the set looked like when I was done..

Sorry mom :) Looooooooooove you.

Today is yet another day of shoots! I have a photo project I'm working on with 3 little boys and I could really use the sun today! I see it poking out now, I just need it to stay out!!!  Wish me luck!

See Ya'll Later!!

KGP on a role!

So this is Blog number 2 today.. I KNOW RIGHT? what is going on?!?!?

There has been so much going on lately and I dont want to bore you with one post. So i figured, lets break things up!

I'd like to start out this post by saying Hi to a friend of mine. I'd like you all to meet.. CHELSEA! Say hi!  You can visit chelsea on her very own blog but..."you'll get the real story from me" ;) hehe just kidding. she is great and her photography is great too! She is the Big Tuna of Little Tuna Studios and her site is a place you need to check out. Check her out http://chelseakrahenbill.com/.

So, this gets me into part 2 of this blog!

Chelsea and I went on an adventure.... a photography adventure.  We took on the challenge of photographing Twin one year olds at their Birthday party.  You read that correctly folks.. not one.. but TWO!!!

Meet Tyler.................        .............and Mason

This was a killer Birthday Party. We had the Boys.. all their family and friends (who were so warm and welcoming) Tootsie (who painted faces, did glitter tattoos and made all kinds of cool balloons animals) and a GIANT bounce house in the backyard.

Everyone seemed to have a really great time which was awesome! Chelsea and I had a great time food, but boy were we exhausted afterwards!

Here are a few more pictures so sum up the day!

It was a successful day!

By meeting the Hong family, I was also introduced to a new project.  I was asked if I would be interested in taking pictures at ZEN a really nice restaurant in NorthHampton MA.  http://www.zennorthampton.com/.  I haven't been able to get the pictures to them yet, so I'm not going to put a lot up on my blog but i"ll show a couple of the detail shots that i got!

Well, Thats it for me for now all.  Tonight, I am headed to BOSTON! Two of my images were chosen to go on display in a Gallery that is Opening tonight!!!!! Check out the site and if you are in the area, check out the show.  It runs until May 8th!  http://www.bu.edu/prc/schedule.htm

Have a great day all <3

Lets try this again!

I've had my lucky charms now and Hopefully the internet is going to allow me to upload my pictures to my blog. If not, i'm going to have to describe in detail every color and shadow in each of the pictures and well, we could be here for days. (no one wants that) SO, lets give this a try..

While we were there, they were having the Garden Festival and they created all the characters from the classic movies in flowers and trees. It was really beautiful.  A few times, i may have accidentally wondered off to look and take pictures and lost my family. *It happens*

Cars is one of my favorite animated movies so I was SUPER excited to be greeted by lightening McQueen when we walked into Epcot! He was looking pretty snazzy if I may say so. Although It wasn't the same without Mator and Quido.. but thats ok!

Caroline and I got Drunk at The Wizarding World at Harry Potter with some ButterBeer! Just kidding! It wasn't an alcoholic drink, but it was Tastey! The park was pretty awesome but it was super busy and thats kind of a bummer, we waited probably 20 minutes in line for ButterBeer and that was the shorted line all day.  The COOLEST ride EVER was the Hogwarts Castle walk through and ride.  The castle was amazing. It looked like the castle from the movie, with staircases that were all crazy and pictures that went all the way up the walls that were talking to each other. You even saw, Harry, Hermionie and Ron. It was pretty crazy!!!

We were able to check out all the parks at Disney. The kids had never been to DisneyWorld before so this was a pretty important trip! We had to hit all the good stuff.  Epcot was probably everyones favorite park.  We had a lot of fun checking out all the countries. The girls had their passport thingys and got them stamped in all the countries.  The guy from Germany made fun of me for saying "hello" I accidentally sorta squeaked when i said it and well, I guess he got a kick out of that. But whatever Germany guy! haha It happens! I squeak.

We also had a pretty awesome time at the aquarium inside Epcot, which i personally didn't even know was there!!!  We lost brian for a while at the dolphin tank.  He was mesmerized by them, it was cute. We ate at the Coral Reef restaurant.. which now that i think about it, is a giant aquarium so i guess I should have known, but whatever.

Another day for lunch we checked out the Sci Fi Diner!  The cars only fit 6 or 7 people in a car, so Andrew and I awkwardly ate dinner with another family.  We were like stow aways in the backseat of their car. We should have gotten a picture with them and their family cause that would have been amazing. They were really nice though, the dad dropped his credit card in the seat and between him holding my cell phone for light, me ripping the seat apart and the waitress crawling under the table, we found it. There is never a dull moment, I tell ya.

Ciara and I were basically done when we got to Animal Kingdom.  Between her and I and our 2 cameras, I thought the fam was going to just leave us there.  Our absolute favorite part of the day was the Tiger Pen. They were BEAUTIFUL. They were all ladies and they were just so amazing.  This particular tiger came running at the glass and when you are looking through your camera and can't really tell whats going on around you and all of a sudden all you see is a giant shadow running in front of you and you KNOW you are near the Tigers, I jumped. hahaha However, I was able to get some really aweosme shots from the day and Ciara and I had so much fun. We stayed behind and watched the Tigers for probably almost and hour.  Everyone else kinda left us there, but it was cool.

This is me and mama.  I'm not sure where her ears are in this picture. But mine are Fabulous. There was a little top hat with the mini bow and a pretty amazing flower sticking out.  YOU ARE JEALOUS. Dont even pretend like you aren't jealous. I took this picture by the way.. i did a pretty good job getting the castle in the background if i may say so.

Everyone had a pretty awesome time on this trip. (I hope) There were no major break downs.. that i know of. We met probably the most amazing singer waiter EVER. shout out to Patrick.  You do indeed have a friend in us, patrick <--- his words. He sang it. he was amazing. The best part he wasn't even our waiter, but we tracked him down. hahahahah SUCH DORKS!!!

Leaving was so sad. :( Our house was amazing, We all got along, We had some epic Wii tournaments in the house.  I miss everyone so much! DEFINITELY worth every minute. Oh and did i mention the weather was PERFECT all week long.  Could not have asked for a better week.

A special thanks to my mom.  Without her, none of this would have been possible and I truly appreciate every moment of it.  LOVE YOU MOM. you are amazing!!!

Ok, well.. Thats the Disney Blog. It took me a day and a half to get it up and hopefully posted.. If you are reading this, then YAY it worked!

Enjoy! I'll be posting again later!  I have tons more stuff to talk about. So.. get ready for KGP news cause there is PLENTY OF IT!!!

Thanks guys!
